Abloy’s lock factory in Joensuu has now launched a major development project involving developing e.g. in-house logistics by implementing warehouse automation. Leanware Oy was selected as the implementer of WMS control for the entire material warehouse of the factory for both manual warehouse and warehouse automation. SSI Schäfer was selected as the supplier of warehouse automation for the project. The project was launched back in January 2019 and the objective is to complete it by the beginning of 2020.
“With this development project, Abloy aims to significantly shorten the lead-time of production by optimization of the factory’s internal material flow. Further development of the warehouse and picking process is an excellent extension for renewal of the factory’s layout. The new in-house logistics solution enables strong improvement of productivity, flexibility and occupational safety,” says Mikko Saastamoinen, Production Director at Abloy.
“Abloy is a truly respected and traditional Finnish brand, and we are very happy that Abloy trusts Leanware as a partner in such a significant production-critical system project,” tells Ville Keskinen, Leanware’s Business Director.
